Last Saturday 4 student of the Lytle Junior High Band traveld to Pleasonton High School to attened a clinic that started at 8:30.  We practiced our pieces for about 3 hours, and then lunch break started at 11:30. We went to Pizza Hut, and had a great time. We returned to Pleasonton High School at 1:00, and practiced to perfection. We got dressed for our concert at 4:00, and finally, the concert started at 5:30. We made many friends from other schools and had a great time. The songs we preformed were Invincible by Robert W. Smith, Dark Adventures by Ralph Ford, Patriotic Bits and Pieces by Michael Story, and Tu Ungane (Let's Join Together!) By Scott Watson.

"It was a blast, I felt like a part of a professional band! I also made friends and learn cool techniques to make my playing better. It was an experience to remember!"  - Juanita Saldana

'You know it was a succesful trip when two of the students (Elissa and Ariel) almost get left at Pizza Hut because we were trying to win stuffed animal"  - Elissa Gallegos

"I just wanted food the whole time but other than that I liked it and so did my stalkers"-Ariel Muraira

Good Afternoon! Yesturday we took 15 students to Pearsall to audition for the Junior High All-Region Band. The students competed against 14 different schools and hundreds of students to earn a place in one of two bands. Our students did very well, but we did have a few heartbreaking moments. In the trumpets section four students missed the band by a few chairs. 24 trumpets were chosen for the bandand Carlos Tomayo was 25th, Jared Garrison was 26th, John Martinez was 28th, and Eddie Morfin was 30th. They competed against 74 trumpets

The four students that made the band were:
Juanita Saldana 8th grade Flute
Concert band
Elissa Gallegos 8th grade Clarinet
Concert band
Ariel Muraira 8th grade Clarinet
Concert band
Mason Ringer 7th grade Alto Saxaphone
Concert band. Mason was beat by 8th graders.

These students will participate in the Jh All-Region Concert and Clinic in Pleasanton on Feb. 20 . Im very proud of all our students , especially the 7th graders who tried out. We are in a very tough region and all of our students did a great job. Thanks Mr. Fender and Mr. reyes for your help.
