Here's mabel rios, and destinae darby coming at you with the lytle jr high band

we had a band concert yesterday
we played

  1. all i want for christmas is my to front teeth 3``
  2. jazzy ol saint nick
  3. carol of the bells

we had the opportunity to play with our spectacular 6th grade band during carol of the bells they did there best and it turned out wonderful
During the rest of the week we worked very hard practicing on our christmas songs and we also worked on our scales we are working on our Ab scale Eb scale and Bb scale they are very fun scales to play and they sound very nice our chorale 1 sounds relly good too.

the jr high band has been working extremly hard for a competion coming up soon this competion is called region band , here we play all sorts of scales and a lyrical and technical etiude , all of those things take practice and dedication from all band students competing but it takes time , anger and makes our band directors grow a little bit of grey hair to teach us those things

saying this i think we speak for LYTLE band students we would like to give a huge thank shoutout to our 3 band directors , for alwyas teaching us what we need to know and never giving up no matter how stressed or upset they maybe it takes a lot of pations and enegry to keep up with 13-18 year olds , thank you .

Beginner Band sign up has already begun.  If your 4th grade child has not received a note for sign up, you can contact me at mrobles@lytleisd.com.  My school phone is 830-709-5115 ext. 4311.

Here are some phone numbers to music companies if you will be purchasing or leasing an instrument:

Flutes, Clarinets, Alto Saxophones, Trumpets, Trombones and Percussion/Bell Kits can be leased from High School Music Company.  The store telephone number is 210/349-2775.  Rates and terms can be discussed with them at your convenience.  Representatives from High School Music have agreed to come to Lytle for an “instrument drive” after school on Tuesday, September 8th.  At that time, you and your child will have an opportunity to see the different instruments, ask questions you might have of the representatives, and if possible, obtain an instrument for your child.

The same instruments are also available from Hillje Music, another good music store with three locations in San Antonio at 3703 Colony Drive (near IH-10 and Wurzbach) – store phone number is 210/696-0039, at 11654 Bandera Rd., Suite 109 – store phone number is 210/680-0181, and at 18130 Highway 281 North – Suite 116 – store phone number is 210/545-3131.

Virtually any of these instruments can also be leased from Taylor Music.  Although the monthly lease rates are lower for this company, they are located in South Dakota, so corresponding with them might be a little more difficult than with High School Music Company or Hillje Music.  The company website is 1800usaband.com.  Look for the link for beginner band instruments.
Please contact me before ordering an instrument for your child so I can keep track of how many students are getting each type of instrument.  This is necessary to keep all the sections in the band at the appropriate size.

Thank you for encouraging your child’s involvement in music!  If you would like to discuss matters with me over the summer, please feel free to call one of the phone numbers listed below.
                                                                                                                Musically yours,
                                                                                                                MJ Robles
                                                                                                                Junior High Band Director

If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to call or email.
